Fish falling from the sky - Literally!

My next topic is related to fish falling from the sky. I did some research and found numerous cases of frogs and fish actually falling from the sky in London, Britain and Ipswich, Australia!

Scientists provide a logical explanation saying the whirlwinds created by Tornado's pick up fish and frogs out of nearby ponds and carry them far distances before raining down to land.


An article on Mail Online gives a history sub column with a history of amazing but strange 'rainfall' of objects falling from the sky :


1st Century - Storms of frogs and fish
1794 - Toads during heavy rain in Lalain
1857 - Sugar crystals fell over two days in Lake County, California
1876 - Venison meat flakes in Kentucky
1902 - Muddy rain in North Eastern U.S. States.
1940 - Coins from the 16th Century showered in Russia after a tornado
1969 - Golf balls on Punta Gorda in Florida. 
1976 - Blackbirds and pigeons rained for two days in San Luis Opisbo in California.
2000 - Fish in Ethiopia
2010 - Spangled perch fish in Lajamanu

As I continued to research, I discovered a phenomena on Occultopedia.com called the 'Fortean Phenomena', named after Charles Fort (1874 - 1932). He spent over 18 years collecting and recording odd phenomena's, with no explanations, out of scientific journals from the British Museum and New York Public Library. He used it to point out the limitations of scientific knowledge and the danger of dogmatic acceptance of natural laws, which the Fortean phenomena seemed to contravene. The Fortean Phenomena is defined as

 'Any paranormal or strange phenomena that appear to defy natural explanation, such as rains of frogs, fish, stones, dead birds, flesh and snakes; mystifying religious experiences, such as stigmata; floating balls of light in the night sky, spontaneous human combustion, UFO's, poltergeist activity; and monstrous creatures.'
